And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

No, the ones i am speaking of are video files in mechlab.
Skyfallers program allows grabbing files from the prj, you may be able to get some out of that, but I really doubt you will be able to get it in any modeling program.
According to Repromancer Activision used a very old pirated version of 3d Studio Max.

Well, I hve been able to extract and reassemble the MW2 models. If you have the CD, just grab MechVM from my website:
http://www.bjoern-ganster.de/MechVM
(either compile from source or download the Win32 executable). Then
- Insert your MW2 CD
- Fire up MechVM
- Run Import and select the CD-ROM drive with MW2
- Allow it to do its magic
- Enter the MechLab
Voila, you can view your mechs running.
For MW3, I would like to do the same. Eventually, I'd like to create a new engine for MW2 and MW3, but I don't know yet whether I will finish it. At any rate, after importing, you can click "play game" to enter a 3D viewer. Navigate using the asdw and nm keys. However, the imported mechs are currently rendered below the landscape.
For now, I'd like to bring a MW3 style MechLab to MW2 community. That's a little closer to reality.
