I'm trying to compile a complete list of the many MechWarrior 2 editions in this thread.
MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat:
- DOS, English and translated to German. Other translations?
- Pentium Edition (Windows 95), English and translated to German. Other translations?
- Macintosh, not using ISO 9660 file system
MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat: 3D enhanced released, no translations?
- 3DFX
- Matrox Mystique
- ATI Rage
- S3 Virge
- PowerVR
- Macintosh Quickdraw 3D Rave
Ghost Bear's Legacy:
- DOS, English and translated to German. Other translations?
- Pentium Edition (Windows 95), English and translated to German. Other translations?
- No 3D enhanced versions?
MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries
- DOS and Windows on a single disk. English and translated to German. Other translations?
Game Bundles: no German translation to my knowledge
- Battlepack
- Titanium
Game Console Ports:
- Playstation, not using PRJ file format, possibly several editions
- Sega Saturn
Do you know of any other translations or MechWarrior versions I forgot to mention here?
I assume there must be at least French or Spanish versions of some titles, possibly Japanese?

I can name a few others, but I am not sure how specific you wish to get; because, most of the versions are almost identical to each other except for how they were labeled.
Do you want those? Also yes there was a Japanese version I believe; I think I saw mention of it somewhere on a Japanese newsgroup post.
Besides those the most obvious non repeated ones are STB Velocity 3D and the Titanium versions of MechWarrior2/GBL/Mercs.

Re: Complete MechWarrior 2 game edition list?
I'm just curious, and I'd like to know whether there are editions that MechVM does not support yet, and how difficult it would be to support them. For example, the Japanese versions cannot use 8-bit text encoding, and I wonder if that makes a difference somewhere without checking all source code, because I think they terminate strings using two zero bytes.
What is the difference between Pentium Edition and the Battle Packs?
And I'm trying to make up my mind whether to purchase additional MW2 editions on Ebay. Yesterday, I was supposed to receive an edition of MW2:31st CC that would contain the files for DOS and Windows, but I was sent the 3DFX version instead. That's not bad either, but I've had some trouble running the 3DFX emulators with Titanium, possibly because of my FarPatcher.

Re: Complete MechWarrior 2 game edition list?
well, basically each of the different versions have their own rendering scheme, i am not sure how exactly you would support the enhanced versions because of this.
The Pentium Edition is a Windows 95 version that is non enhanced and it lacks dos.
The Pentium Edition Non-Retail though has both 95 and DOS.
The Netmech Edition is basically the retail version of the Non-Retail Pentium version.
As for purchasing more versions on ebay, I think depends on how determined you are... there are so many different versions besides the ones you mentioned it is not funny; because, it was bundled with practically everything under the sun.
