Slug's patch no longer works for me...

I was playing some mech2 win95 (and I found out the music does work in it now ), but for some reason I had not noticed the mechlab bug until now (I do believe the files I had prior to this reoccurring bug were SUPPOSED to be the good, patched ones that worked well, but I suppose I was wrong, or I applied the stuff wrong). So I went ahead and retraced my steps, applying slug's patch, etc. etc. messing with backed up files, but now whenever I use just slug's patch, I get a crash upon entering the mechlab, or launching a level.

When launching a level, I get this error signature thing:

AppName: mech2.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: mw2shell.dll
ModVer: 1.1.0.0 Offset: 0003e15f

Any ideas?

do not use the patch.. only use a dll.
Combine Slug's Hook with the patch and you will have better results usually.

I probably should have mentioned that doing that does the same result.
