Mechwarrior 2 installation on vista help.

Hello there, I recently received a copy of Mechwarrior 2 softkey version. Im not bothered by the version as long as it works.

I have windows vista and I cannot install it the normal way which im aware of. But im a bit dim when it comes to more complicated installations such as DOSBOX.

I would really appreciate it if someone left me a full installation guide after this post for the normal installation on vista or the Dos version with dosbox on vista. Im in urgent need of your help.

If by "normal version" you mean the DOS version, then use the same instructions. Otherwise, please clarify.

The primary DOS installation instructions will not work. Use the link Skyfaller gave you; it will work on Vista.
Direct DOS will never work for Vista or Windows 7.

Ok I managed to get the DOS version up and running, but I have now have more problems.

There is no sound, despite the fact that I changed the sound settings, and I cannot enter the mission halls of jade falcon or wolf without it freezing. Also the instant action will not let me change enemy mech units, and it wont load anyway.
