Weapon Experiment

I recently did an MW Experiment type thing.

Stage 1!
I took a mech and outfited it to my likeing for Mercs. I thin Customized the same mech in 31cc and GBL with identical loadouts and tried to get as close as possable to my mercs mech as possable (Cloned mech). For this experiment I went with a 70 ton Clan Chassis. Basically a Modified Summoner. I swapped out the lrm15 for an lrm10 added 2CMplas Endo and Ferro. Some Double heatsinks. and 1 additional ton of LBX10 ammo.

Stage 2!
I proceeded to play through a Career(S) in Mercs, GBL and 31cc with said mech. I noticed some differences. I have a REAL OLD hacked savegame for mercs that allowed me to start the game with Clan mechs(No I did not make this save game). This saved game will only work with version 1.06!

Now this may just be me but Id like another opinion. Does it seem like the Autocannons(Spacifically the LBX) have become Dead weight in Mercs??? Im mercs the LBX autocannons seem to fire 2 shots per trigger pull. They also seem to do verry little damage per hit.(Offline single player game) Whilist in 31cc and GBL they do major damage per hit and fire only once per trigger pull. It must also be noted that in GBL and 31cc that I was only allowed to have 3 weapon groups insted of the allowable 5 in mercs. The Mplas were group 1. The Lockon Missiles were group 3. This left the ERPPC and CLbx-10 in group 2. I opted for chainfire while using group 2 alternating between PPC and LBX. It took an average of roughly 10 trigger pulls to kill a heavy mech in 31cc and GBL(Less for light mechs). In mercs using the same method Id run out of ammo before I could even get a color change. In GBL during the Dropship Guard duty mission, I found the LBX-10 to be the perfect one shot(1 hit)Battlesuit(Elemental) Killer.

I Began to ask myself why put the Auto cannons in mercs after making them essentially worthless????

Which brings me to this. Does anyone else have any thoughts or Input on this??

Thank You for your time.

Confirmed. Mercs and later editions of MW2, including BattlePack and Titanium Trilogy, use different weapon stats than the DOS and Win95 versions of31stcc and GBL.
