The Wikipedia article on MechWarrior ...

... is missing a section on NetMech. The discussion page asks for "an added section for the online culture this game fostered". I agree that such a section is missing, but the difficulty lies in finding sources for the material written, as I learned through recent comments on my edits. What would you like to see in that section, and do you have game magazine material covering this?

I could imagine that gaming modes should be described, that the game was free to join, but required the CD to host, that players are free to choose their mechs, names, Clan and Mech configs, that the game required a 31stcc CD to create mech configs. An independent article from a games magazine, backing this, would help here.

Are there verifyable numbers of players during the height of the game? As I wasn't there, my knowledge in these areas is limited.

Yah, actually Badkarma's museum that wetback has probably would be the best example of players tastes... (appears to have disappeared)

found this about a tournament that once was hosted by the GC http://www.gamerleague.com/zone2/netmech.html

TKZ info is still around as well.

ps. yes, they removed all of the Netmech stuff was there.. if you look at the previous edits there was an extensive section which i had setup.
Basically probably would be a better idea to get a whole page on Netmech alone
