MechWarrior 2: Resource Forum

Yah, I saw that too. Got an e-mail when it was posted yesterday there.
I am still dissapointed mektek made mech2 a legacy forum.. really killed it off....

That's why I didn't want to answer that post again.

I wonder why they suddenly declared it legacy. Perhaps they wanted to minimize "leaking" fans to other MW sims. I get the impression that traffic has gone down considerably there, unlike MechLL. All just speculation.

I dunno about that, mech3.org was able to get top billing on the front page links.

The people at mektek are certainly aware of mech2.org, we might just ask for a link. If that doesn't work, we'll either need something to catch their attention or ask if we can do them a favour. Also, mech3.org puts our link above that to mektek, but we do not link to either site, do we?

Since we do not have a main page it makes the whole issue frusterating. I gotta get to that sometime.

The most difficult aspect of making a nice front page for a web page are nice images. I would propose that we ask our readers to send in or post links to screenshots that they find exciting enough to put on a front page. We could create a banner from the screenshots. The rest is mostly layout, but listing the five or ten latest posts would indicate activity. How about that, MMPD?

I am not so sure that any contests would work at this point. I guess we could try it though.
I like the 2nd point though.

And mektek completely rearranged their forums again, squeezing all the game-related forums into one tiny main group "MechWarrior & Battletech".
