Yes, (well, sorta), I know you need that original ATI graphics card for the MW2:ATI Rage Edition, but do I need any special hardware to play the Titanium or Battlepack versions?

for best results with the (bad) Titanium and Battlepack editions you could just use any card.. but works best with 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500

i didnt think we'd be discussing OLD hardware, but more modern hardware.

With old games that have glide, there is no modern alternative that gives as good results.
That is why i said any old card will work fine.

Anyway, do you Pepsi think there's any good salvage hardware in a 360 I can put in my PC?

Microsoft is giving a three-year guarantee on the xbox 360:

On July 5, 2007, the Vice-President of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business division published an open letter recognizing the console's problems, as well as announcing a three-year warranty extension for every Xbox 360 console that experiences the "general hardware failure" indicated by three flashing red LEDs on the console

If guarantee has run out, perhaps the hard disk can be connected to a PC. While most disks are small, I would recommend it for backups, meaning that you keep one version of a file on your hard disk, and another on your Xbox disk. But then prices for external disks and USB thumb drives have gone down so much it probably isn't worth bothering. Didn't you write an article on how to use the controllers for MW2? Perhaps the DVD drive will work in a PC, use it in your own PC or sell it on Ebay (after testing).

I dont believe you can salvage 360 parts into your PC.
I'd probably try to get it serviced by Microsoft (will cost money), or buy a new xbox (sell your broken 360 on ebay as well).

Rereading your post, I see that you bought your Xbox two years ago, so you should be covered by the three-year warranty. So, if it's not too much of a hassle, it might be worth checking back to the store where you bought it. The warranty is only good for the person who bought the Xbox in the first place. I don't know about repair costs, but a technician at your store will be able to tell you.

To my knowledge, they use standard hard disk and DVD-ROM for the Xbox, so it may well be that these work in a standard PC.

My Xbox 360 would be covered by the open-letter policy, but, the only problem is that I broke a "proof-seal" while opening it up. The 360 is a very messy game console, dust and powder stuff gets caught between things and once every 6 months I opened it up long ago and took a particle duster and cleaned all the filth out once in a while. Forgetting that my actions violated the warrenty...
I am not to blame, the 360 was neglegantly designed.

And yes, I did write an article here in the General Discusion section on how to play MW2 with a 360 controller. (I also know how to get a Wii or PS3 controller to work too, but I will only post instructions upon request, it is time consuming.)

I don't know what I'll do.
