Questions/Issues regarding NAIS and Dosbox

I am having trouble getting the NAIS mod for Mercs running on Dosbox (since I have a x1650 Video Card by ATI, since new or current ATI graphics cards are not Dos Graphics friendly). I tried making a CD image file via CD cloner and use D-Fend Reloaded to locate the CD image file but no go.
Here is the issue:
In instant action, when I select a 'mech (stock and/or valid custom) and click on launch it takes me to the NAIS Launch menu and click on launch, after it loads, it takes me back to the Instant Action menu. Is it possible to fix this issue (via dosbox), quiaff?
