Mech 2 windows 95 bugs in XP

I've got it running perfectly except the jump jets don't recharge and my mech doesn't explode when I overheat. has anyone else have this problum?

Please provide which method you used.
It is part for the course depending which method you choose.
You could use a program such as
cpugrab to fix it. It generally will fix it to an extent.
If you use the
new wrapper that came out recently instead of either kontza's method/slugs origional patch you might have a better result.

Hi.
I installed from disc and applied the 1.1 patch. did the compatibility settings. I can use the warp13 old patch and it works great except for the above problems. The Hook patch alone won’t get it going. I used this command in a bat file:
mw2inject.exe /-startup /-mechlab /-heaphack /-frameratelimit /pause mech2.exe
If I run the old patch first, the mw2inject.exe does get it going, but with the same problems.
I don’t know if I have problems with the mech lab yet. It seems to be ok.

oops...
I figured out my problem with the hook patch. I should have left out all the /- switches. That gets it going without the old patch, but its at 320x200 and I still don’t blow up on overheat. the jump jets do recharge now though. If I do the old patch too, I get 640x480 and the jets recharge, but still no blow up.

Please try using cpugrab, if that fails you have no options left except to try DOS Mech2.
Secondarily you need to set the resolution in the combat variables, using slugs patch at 640 x 480 sets it to 1024 x 768 instead.

Hello again.
I think I have it running as well as it will using MW2XPv3 patch for the high res and the Hook patch with the command:
mw2inject.exe /-startup mech2.exe
The jumpjets are recharging and the mechlab works fine, but the mech still won’t blow up on overheat. I don’t know if it works in netmech. I tried the cpu grabber. It still won’t overheat. Something must be calculating it though, if you push it to the point of blowing, the heat never comes back down. Oh well, everything else works just like the old days.

do you have a multicore cpu by any chance or hyperthreading?

i kinda figured it was multicore.. i expect we will be getting more and more reports of this problem as time progresses.
See the heat issue is due to cpu speed, same with the jets. What boggles my mind is why the jets recharge while the heat does not affect you.
I am really not sure how we can deal with the other cores.... I think if you try and make it slaved to only one core it may work properly, but that is only a guess.
