MechWarrior 2: Resource Forum

Imagine this thread as a satire of a database of dev bugs that you might encounter in your real life, or even a made up situation (video game/fictional setting/etc...), as if your life was a software application that was in constant development. I will include a template to make things uniform, and even include a couple example bugs.

Each bug will include a Summary of the issue, condition to reproduce (i.e. things that may be needed to for the reader to recreate the situation), Steps to reproduce situation, Results of what happens if you attempt the reproduction, Additional Notes, and Suggested fix to the issue.

Try to refer to yourself in 3rd person. The first step of the steps to reproduce should be a starting point for yourself (or character). Once you reference yourself/character in one of the steps, there is no need to continue to reference yourself until someone else is referenced

As usual to forum rules, keep it clean, lets keep sex out of this, and limited violence

This actually happened to me last week:

Summary:
Pepsi-Wolf burns hand when improperly handling fish inside of oven

Conditions to Reproduce
1. Kitchen Oven
2. Fish (preferably salmon)
3. Recipe to cook fish

Steps to Reproduce
1. From Pepsi standing in kitchen facing oven
2. Follows recipe to cook fish
3. Opens oven door when fish is ready to be taken out
4. Equips spatula in right hand
5. Places spatula under fish while still fish remains on tray inside oven
6. Hovers left hand over fish while fish on spatula is still in oven
7. Raises left hand up until touches heating coil inside oven

Results
Top of Pepsi's left hand is burned as he touched heating coil in oven

Additional Notes

Suggested Fix
Equip oven mitt on Pepsi's left hand, or have Pepsi take tray out of oven before removing fish

Summary:
Sir_MMPD-Radick is constantly defeated by Pepsi-Wolf in Super Street Fighter 4

Conditions to Reproduce
1. MMPD and Pepsi must load Super Street Fighter 4 (SSF4)
2. MMPD and Pepsi must be in same lobby in SSF4

Steps to Reproduce
1. From game lobby in SSF4
2. MMPD and Pepsi start match
3. MMPD selects character
4. Pepsi selects character
5. Stage is selected
6. Match begins

Results
Pepsi consistently preforms a beatdown on MMPD

Additional Notes
There is a low ratio in which MMPD wins a match. Might be a glitch in system

Suggested Fix
Place MMPD into mandatory retirement.

Summary:
Pepsi is unable to get a long winstreak against an opponent other than Sir_MMPD-Radick.

Conditions to Reproduce

1. Pepsi and his opponent (such as Koopa or Hype) must load Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012
2. They must be in the same endless lobby inside of the game.

Steps to Reproduce

1. From game lobby in SSF4 AE
2. Pepsi and Koopa start a match
3. Pepsi selects Evil Ryu
4. Koopa selects random
5. Match begins

Results
Pepsi consistently loses to Koopa despite a handicap.

Additional Notes
When Pepsi is frustrated he attempts to go take on Koopa with El Fuerte which only seems to infuriate his opponent more.

Suggested Fix
Have Pepsi learn how to play Sakura.

1. Snowy woods in Norway
2. Angry moose

Steps to Reproduce
1. While player is in snowy woods Norway map
2. Encounters angry moose
3. Lays down

Results
Angry moose no longer able to target player and leaves map

Upgrade angry moose A.I. to be able to track players that lay down
