Joystick in Mechwarrior 2 (non-dosbox) for Win 7, 64-bit?

Is this possible at all? Anyone know how to get the Joystick to work in the Windows 3dfx version of Mechwarrior 2 under Windows 7 64-bit?

Nevermind. I got it working. Apparently MW 2 hates you changing the config and then dropping right after. If you do, it CTDs. The way around it is to change config, save, exit game and run it again. Now if only I could figure out a way to make my joystick turn the torso and it stay in place when I release the stick. I don't think there is a way, though...
