MechWarrior 2: Resource Forum

Hi,

I'm not a long-time mech-head like most of you, but I got the bug recently and decided to play.

So I have MW2: 31st Century Combat for Windows 95, and I'm using MechVM to run it on my Vista 64 machine. Everything goes smoothly until it's time to start a mission, and then the mission won't run.

Any suggestions?

Not a lot you can do about that, sorry. The Win95 version is rather unstable. It runs best in emulation, like VMWare. If MechVM offers both Win95 and DOS, choose DOS. Otherwise, buy the DOS version on Ebay.

At what point would MechVM give me the choice of running the game in Win 95 or DOS? (Assuming that it gives the choice . . . )

It depends if you have DOS on the disc. Some 95 discs don't have it on there.
I'd assume MechVM wouldn't offer DOS if it is not on the disc.
