I finally grabbed a copy that appears to be DOS/Win capable. Horray!

MechVM identifies the CD as such. Double horray! But when I hit install, it instantly says 'Installation complete', some outrageous number of mechs imported, and that's it. It made a 'mw2-31st' folder but it only has like 200kb of data in it and nothing on the play list.

What's the dealy-o? Is there a way to manually install? I'm running Windows 7 64-bit so actually installing the game itself and copying files is out of the question since none of the files will execute :/

Please post the file install-report.txt from the directory where MechVM installed MW2.

I too have a similar problem. MechVM asks for a CD image, and I don't know what file it is, and when I choose some file, it either installs wrong (being unplayable), or aborts, though the mechs do get imported (sometimes).
