i dont know if it's all that natural for it to happen in Nor-Cal. There's a huge amount of vegetation, yes. However, that area of California is not a dry one. Usually cooler weather (especially in the red wood forest). Southern Cali is different since its mostly desert. San Diego is considered a desert area, even though we have quite a bit of trees here too. We have a lot of dry brush to fuel our fires, and make them spread quicker to the trees.

no it definitely is not natural... the fire a few months ago was man made.. someone lit a cigarette in a forest and caused the Humbolt fire.
Then the other one that came after it was lightning storm that was only 5 min long...

Suffice it to say I think God is trying to get our attention.

shame to c it burn down
but like cy said, fires r part of nature and they need to happen unfortunately

Usually these fires are caused by idiots accidentially setting it somehow though...
