I have the program. Not real sure how to set up the server or connect to it or whatever. I know I'm supposed to go to the irc.netmedia-netherlands.com server, just not sure where to enter that.

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

just to verify the .img file is there at the same location as well right?

Well, it doesn't have .img in the file name, but under "type" it says Disc Image File, so I'm assuming that's it, so yes it's in the same location.

You could try installing with MechVM again. This time, feed the .CUE to ...

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

It says I have to mount D first. Which I thought I already did by editing the configuration file. Maybe I messed that up?

Here's the lines I added, the only thing I changed from the guide were the paths

mount C C:\DOSBOX\
C:
imgmount D "C:\Mech2.cue" -t iso

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

yes. You need to make an img of the disc with Clone CD as the instructions of the DOSBOX guide indicate.. then mount it in DOSBOX.
After you do that then you run the instructions of the DOS install inside of DOSBOX. It will not run directly in Windows 7.

I've done all this. That's the problem I'm ...

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

The only problem is, there is no MINST.EXE or INSTALL.EXE file when I look in the cd files, which kind of kills the process right away.

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

It shows step by step how to get DOSBOX working with mech2.. mercs uses same instructions just 1-2 minor differences with interface

I did. DOSBOX just sits there when I open it. I'm not real sure what I'm supposed to be doing in order to start the ...

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

*shrugs*

If you come on IRC I can walk you through fixing DOSBOX, but mechvm bugs i'm not sure of myself.
However, if you installed it via mechvm it should have installed to a directory that it mentioned and installed a copy of DOSBOX which you should be able to access directly if i remember ...

Re: More help with Windows 7 Mercs

Alright when I hit "install", it freezes up, and then later pops up with an error telling me it can't find the CD image or something. I'll try the DOSbox method in the meantime though. I do remember that I had a particularly difficult time with this and actually had to have someone do it for me ...
